About Smart Aging
Insights
​Smart Aging Insights is written by Dr. Sivakaran Nagaratnam (Dr. Naga), a family physician who is double board certified in Canada and the United States, with additional postgraduate training in dermatology. His clinical work focuses on caring for older adults, with particular attention to prevention, mobility, skin health, and supporting independence as people age.
In day-to-day practice, many patients ask similar questions. How can bone strength be protected? What changes in balance or skin are normal with age? Which supplements are helpful, and which are unnecessary? How can energy, mobility, and overall wellbeing be maintained over time?
These recurring conversations are what led Dr. Naga to create Smart Insights. The goal is to share clear, practical, and evidence-based information in a way that feels approachable and useful, without medical jargon or conflicting advice.
